Dear LUSD Teachers,
Thank you for all that you do for our students and our staff. We really appreciate you and your hard work!

Today Laytonville High School hosted our very first career fair. It was a great opportunity for our students and the 8th grade class to talk to career representatives from all around our county. After the event students and presenters were provided a free BBQ lunch with a side pasta salad made by our culinary arts department. We would like to give a special thank you to our staff and parent volunteers who made this day possible. We are very grateful to the 23 businesses and organizations who gave up part of their work day to speak to our youth. Your time was greatly appreciated, thank you so much to:

Good Afternoon Families and Staff of Laytonville Unified,
Today, the Ukiah Police Department received a call on their business line regarding an active shooter situation at Ukiah High School. Ukiah Police Department investigated this call and deemed it to be not credible. Ft. Bragg Unified and Willits Unified also received such calls. The FBI has issued a country-wide advisory warning of this national trend. The safety and well-being of students and staff is always our highest priority, and we take all necessary measures to ensure our campus was safe. LUSD will continue to monitor this case, and we will update you with any new information.
Please talk with your children about reporting any situation that causes discomfort so it can be fully investigated. Thank you to our county law enforcement officers, who did a fantastic job responding to this situation. Please contact the school should you or your student have any concerns or questions. Here is a link to an article by the Associated Press describing the national trend for your review:
